  • BfP provides a feminist approach for psychologists and their clients, acknowledging the inherent difficulties people face in deconstructing patriarchy.

  1. Working with clients who look to Buddhism to seek relief from emotional difficulties.
    • Personalised program based on your actual work experience
    • Exploration of Buddhist concepts, such as mindfulness, karmic acceptance and their application within a western therapeutic context.
    • Identifying the use or misuse of Western Psychological interventions and/or Buddhist principles within the therapeutic context.
    • Highlighting the effect of patriarchy in client’s lives.
    • Formulating therapeutic interventions/approaches that are constructive and not destructive for your clients.
      • 8 week online program
      • 8 CPD points
      • $160
      • Over the course of the 8 weeks, the program will allow for about 40 online interactions between yourself and the BfP team.
  2. Personal Development for Psychologists interested in Buddhism
    • There are many psychologists and psychotherapists who express a personal interest in Buddhism. They see that it can help them to improve their own awareness of themselves and their skills and capacity when working with clients with emotional and relational difficulties.
    • Some psychologists recognise that developing a deeper understanding of Buddhism and Psychology can give them an edge in the professional world.
      • Personalised online program. Basic program starts from a 4week online program.
      • $90 for every 4 weeks (4 CPD points). Discount applies for longer commitments.
      • Over the course of the 4 weeks, the program will allow for about 20 online interactions between yourself and the BfP team.
      • For people committing to longer programs, the number of CPD points and online interactions will be mutually agreed upon.
  3. Working with clients who experienced sexual abuse within a Buddhist Community, such as the current controversy around Sogyal Rinpoche.
    • Identify psychological complications clients face when disclosing sexual abuse experienced within a Buddhist Community.
    • Name the limitations clients come up against when disclosing sexual abuse.
    • Discuss therapeutic interventions/approaches that are constructive and not destructive for your clients.
      • 8 week online program
      • 8 CPD points
      • $160
      • Over the course of the 8 weeks, the program will allow for about 40 online interactions between yourself and the BfP team.
  4. Australian Magazine Review: Womankind: The Skill of Happiness (Issue #15)
    • Dynamic Group Forum for Psychologists to:
      • Review, discuss the varied ideas, concepts and articles published in this edition about Tibetan Buddhism.
      • Consider how the multiple concepts published in the magazine, could be of value in a therapeutic context.
    • 4week online discussion group program. (min 2/Max 5 people per group)
    • Group discussion facilitated by experienced moderator.
    • $50
    • Over the course of the 4 weeks, the program will allow for about 20 online interactions between the group and the BfP team.
    • This group program will go ahead when a minimum of two people have registered. Please encourage colleagues to join you in a group discussion.
    • This forum will be held in a private Facebook group.
